The Plastic Flamingo Quarterly Report Q2-2025

Progress in Motion: How Plaf is Building a Greener Future

Production at full capacity
Thanks to new machinery, Plaf operated at peak performance in Q2. With upgraded equipment, we now produce 32-40 Eco-boards daily in a standard 4x8ft size, catering to growing demands for construction and furniture-grade materials. Our CNC machine has also boosted our output of eco-furniture pieces, supporting larger orders and improving finish quality.

Turning Plastic Waste Into Purposeful School Chairs

We’ve begun fulfilling a major order of 5,000 Plaf School Chairs for donation to disaster-affected schools across the Philippines. Made entirely from patented, recycled plastic Eco-boards, our chairs promote circular economy practices while making a meaningful impact on education and sustainability.

New Product Line: Recycled HDPE (rHDPE) Pellets

We are launching our new rHDPE pellet production line in Q3 2025! This allows us to recycle more plastic, diversify products, and strengthen our commitment to circular economy solutions. We are actively expanding our plastic collection network to support this initiative.

Strengthening the Team

We’ve grown to a team of 64, welcoming a new R&D Associate to advance product innovation. Our commitment to employee well-being includes:

Child scholarship support for women workers

  • Health allowances and extended maternity leave

  • Facility-wide vaccination programs

  • Ongoing training and wellness activities

Safe and Sustainable Operations

We continue to monitor and maintain air and noise quality in our facility, keeping PM2.5 below 15 μg/m2 and noise under 80 dB. Proper PPE usage is reinforced among all staff and visitors, alongside safety trainings and infrastructure upgrades.

Distribution Growth

We’ve expanded distribution efforts through new retail partnerships and direct client deliveries, helping us reach a wider audience and meet growing demand beyond Metro Manila.

Turning Plastic Into Purpose, Together

600MT Milestone with CMA CGM
We hit a major milestone: collecting 600 metric tons of plastic waste with CMA CGM. These plastics were upcycled into eco-boards and school chairs, directly contributing to environmental protection and job creation. An event at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park was held to commemorate this achievement, featuring a panel of experts in sustainability and waste management. CMA CGM’s tagline, Finding Better Ways, resonates with our vision.

Meralco Joins the Movement

Through Meralco’s Race to Zero Waste initiative, their plastic waste is now being diverted to The PLAF for recycling. This adds to our growing collection network of 300+ drop-off points across the country.

Education Through Experience

We raised awareness through a webinar for one of our partners on World Safety and Health Day, educating 61 participants on marine plastic solutions. We also welcomed 23 local and international visitors during facility tours in May and June. These guided tours showcased our recycling operations and strengthened connections for future collaboration.

Moving Forward Together

As we enter Q3, we’re pushing forward with innovation, partnerships, and sustainability. With your continued support, we’ll keep transforming plastic waste into products with purpose.
