Breeze

Breeze, a known laundry detergent, is part of Unilever’s massive brand portfolio that pushes for a clean home, clean planet, and clean future. More than cleaning dirt and stains, Breeze believes that home care brands should also be aware of their responsibilities to creating a more sustainable future.

Unilever is a multinational corporation selling consumer goods including foods, beverages, cleaning agents, and personal care products. For over a century, they have believed in and upheld their purpose of making sustainable living commonplace for everyone.

The corporation owns over 400 brand names in over 190 countries and considers itself to be a global company with a global purpose. Unilever Philippines thereby contributed to the sustainable life of over 100 million Filipinos. They provide products that are necessary for the life of every Filipino, and each brand is led by individuals who desire to have a meaningful, sustainable impact in the Philippines.

Unilever's Breeze brand of laundry detergent extends the corporation's goal by believing that superior and expert stain removal should not be done at the expense of the environment—it should also be delivered sustainably. Although they use powerful ingredients to fight dirt and stains, Breeze uses recyclable plastics in their packaging. They also collaborate with other non-governmental organizations to reduce environmental impact, promote trash recycling, and create a circular economy, empowering people to change.

Sharing the same vision for a sustainable world, Breeze, through Unilever Philippines, and The Plastic Flamingo inked a deal to work together in their proposed collaborative project in achieving the aims of plastic waste recovery through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This collaboration will encourage the practice of collecting and transforming plastic trash into a circular economy, as well as raise awareness about the dangers of marine plastic pollution by contributing to recycling activities in the Philippines.

Since April 2022, The Plastic Flamingo offers cross-communication programs with the aim of raising awareness about the plastic crisis and supporting the recovery of plastic waste for recycling and upcycling. The Plaf also collects and ensures that the amount of plastic waste from Unilever (Breeze) in which the collected plastic waste will be recycled and upcycled in the organization’s warehouse. This collaboration entails the collection of compensation for 16 tons of plastic garbage. Furthermore, the social enterprise conducts instructional seminars and/or webinars for global and/or local workers on the dangers of marine plastic pollution, sustainable solutions, partnerships, and collaborative mission.

Breeze’s collaboration with The Plastic Flamingo is an excellent opportunity to display their Malasakit (genuine concern for others) culture, as well as their strong support for diversity and inclusion. Regardless of the business industry to which they belong, they are committed to working together to achieve the aims of plastic waste recovery and continue to be engaged in collaborating to create a more sustainable future.
